Re: Question about substitutions when ordering

Thanks, Julie!

I worked with Mike a bit on this year's order and I agree, he was wonderful. I hope it didn't come across that I didn't trust anyone to put my order together, I just wanted to make it as easy as possible, which I think you understood.

We are so blessed by HOD!

Re: Question about substitutions when ordering

Thank you! I love their substitution policy and didn't want to make it harder or be a burden. Glad to know the notes worked fine for you and I will probably just do it that way when I order. :)

Question about substitutions when ordering

This is actually a question for next year's order  ... (c'mon, I know I know I'm not the only one that looks ahead!) I thought I'd post while I was thinking about it. I was looking at all the different packages for Preparing and I have quite a few books already. I know we are allowed to substi...

Re: DITHR - Level 2/3 books too easy?

My son just started DITHOR. He is 7 and doing the level 2 book pack. In his daily free reading time, he loves the Thornton Burgess books and The Magic Tree House books. For our school reading, the book pack is just right. He is reading Amelia Earhart and the reading level challenges him. Also, you d...

Re: Two questions on implementing HOD/DITHOR

Thank you for these responses, especially thanks to Kathleen for the thorough response! I will not worry if our DITHOR reading and Read Aloud get on a different track. Much relief!

Two questions on implementing HOD/DITHOR

Hello! We have started Bigger, and I am running into two (not very important  ) issues that I would like advice on from seasoned HOD users. First: I love that currently, our Bigger read-aloud is a Biography, and my son's DITHOR book is a Biography. However, this last week I have been sick. I w...

Re: States and Symbols

Thank you, ladies. I have a friend who is currently comparing HOD and MFW for her kids. I know she likes that MFW Adventures will cover both national symbols and the states in that year. I will let her know that there is some state coverage in HOD, just not as early.

States and Symbols

I know I have seen this asked before but cannot find the threads! When (if) are states and symbols covered in HOD?

Thanks!

A Surprise Perk!

My son is doing Bigger and my daughter is doing Little Hearts this year. Last year, when we did Beyond, I kind of  ignored the suggestions for gross motor skills, the ones recommended when you study the Bible verses and such? My kids are extremely uncoordinated (must be a product of me!...

I think I'd like to hear how it goes with older kids, I'm thinking we won't use it for now.

Does anyone use an outside planner with HOD?

I am wondering if anyone uses a separate planner with HOD. I had bought the Well Planned Day planner before I had decided to go back to HOD, and now I am wondering if it will just be a waste of time and redundant. I am going to be running two guides, Little Hearts and Bigger Hearts and am using all ...

Re: When not to worry about spelling and handwriting?

Is she 7 yo? If so, it sounds like she is writing oodles more than my sons did when they were 7 yo. :D Now at 9 yo and 12 yo, they have turned out to both be very good writers. :) When we started DITHOR, we went half-speed. The boys read half of their alloted pages one day. The next day they read t...
