When I get stuck and nothing on the shelf is fitting. I use bookadventure.com go to booklist in right hand side of site. Then use search function. Macaroni was a term for a extravagant dandy... they had wild hair styles and used to put the tricorn hat on the top of it all... so people, hats and the hairstyle were all called macaroni.
