Family devotional time
I'm curious if anyone has a family devotional time? I know each of the guides have their own bible time, but I'm curious if anyone has a time they bring all of their kids together to study the word and what that looks like?

Schedule for year-round schooling
I'm considering schooling year-round. We ended the last week of April and have had the month of May off. Does anyone school year-round? What does your schedule look like? When do you "start" and "finish"? How do you use your guides when schooling year-round? Thanks!

Placement for 2 kids the same age but different levels?
My bio son and my adopted daughter are both 6 and going in to "first grade" in the fall. My son is 5 months older than my daughter. She was in public school for Kindergarten, and my son did the first 25 units of LHFHG. This coming year my plan was to combine them in the last 10 units of LHFHG and mo...

Re: Letting your child have input in curriculum choices
Thank you for your responses! Yes, we have been doing most of R&S orally. I think you have a great point about him possibly choosing CLE because it's "easier". He's actually said "it's easy" before. He does prefers to circle and underline answers instead of discussing them orally like we do in R&S. ...

Letting your child have input in curriculum choices
I'd love some input about this. My DS, 8.5, has done CLE LA for 1st and some of 2nd grade (we don't use it for penmanship or spelling). We started using Rod and Staff as scheduled in the Bigger guide the 2nd half of this school year. I have started really enjoying it and DS has done fine with it, so...

Finish Bigger, or start Preparing?
We are on unit 27 of Bigger Hearts. I'm planning to break for the summer after unit 28, we may do units 29 and 30 over the summer. DS (8.5 will be in 3rd grade) really wants to start Preparing in the fall. Should we finish up Bigger first, then start Preparing?

The 3 R's when stretching out the guides?
What do you do about the 3 R's if you stretch out the guides into the next school year? In the fall, for 1st grade, I'll be finishing the last 10 units of LHFHG before starting Beyond. What is the recommeration for the 3 R's?
