CTC Bible

Hi, I have a question about the Bible portion of CTC. I know there is personal quiet time scheduled and also the Bible study box. We have done SO MUCH Old Testament the past few years and this year are doing the gospels. I would LOVE to continue that next year, but we'll be in CTC. Is the Bible port...

Re: CTC science

Perfect! Sounds like this is all we will need. Question though - I am planning to start Answers in Genesis human body next semester. (We aren't using HOD yet - starting in April or May). How much of human anatomy is covered in CTC? If it's a lot, I may do something else for science next semester so ...

CTC science

Can anyone tell me about the science in this package? My daughter loves science and is pretty serious about wanting to be strong in it academically. Thoughts?

Re: Bigger driven pre-anxiety :)

That's kind of what I am thinking. I may let the kindergartner listen in with the Bigger content when it seems appropriate and then work on more age-specific stuff with her separately. I think that is probably a wiser choice for me going into heart of Dakota. Thanks for all of your thoughts and sugg...

Re: Bigger driven pre-anxiety :)

Thanks Nancy. Yes, I am pretty confident CTC and Bigger is where they will place. Obviously this is for next summer as a start, but they pretty much fit there now. Perhaps a little more growth first but we are working a lot in the areas needed anyway. Particularly writing. I am going to the conventi...

Re: Bigger driven pre-anxiety :)

Thanks for your response Melissa. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with my kindergartner yet. I was thinking little hearts. But we are halfway through The Reading Lesson now and I'm starting AAR and the kindergarten Singapore math in January, so I'm not sure Little Hearts will be a good fit. I thin...

Bigger driven pre-anxiety :)

Hi ladies, I am getting my final couple of months of research done before buying all our curriculum in the spring. I feel great about CTC for my rising 5th grader but I'm getting more anxious about doing Bigger with my rising 2nd grader. I'm concerned it will be too teacher intensive while also teac...

LHFHG and Reading

Hi ladies, I'm trying to wrap my brain about what our next year of school will look like. (which i will be buying curriculum in the spring to start getting familiar with HOD myself) I'm pretty confident that we will be using Bigger and CTC. And it seems like LHFHG will work best for my then kinderga...

Using R&S

Hi ladies,
If I were to use R&S when I start HOD, how often would I need to schedule it per week to get close to finishing a book a year? I don't feel like I have to do every page, but I'd rather not go at half speed. I will be using Bigger/R&S 2 and CTC/R&S 4.
Thanks!

Re: If i use other LA programs

Thanks. I have used sonlight in the past and in the teachers guide, there is the chart that lists the plans, then there are several pages of teachers notes. Is there anything like that?

Re: If i use other LA programs

Is there more in the guide than what is shown in the samples on the website or are all pages just like that?
