Re: Week in Review: October 7-11, 2013

This week we completed Unit 6 in Bigger and Creation to Christ. This week's painting in CTC was one of my favorites and I created a few documents to share with you in Bigger.

CTC- Unit 4 Bigger- Unit 4 This week in my blog I focused on the subjects that aren't usually highlighted. You know...math, English, spelling, handwriting, etc. Just for one week, I wanted to let people know what we use for each of those subjects and how it's going. There are also a few pics of some...

Re: Week in Review: August 26-30, 2013

I'm a new HOD user, so maybe take my insights with a grain of salt, I guess. :) I love that I've gotten so much help from others who've done the program before, so I decided to start blogging my journey so that other who come behind me may gain some knowledge (probably by learning from my mistakes, ...

? about independent reading in CTC

I've noticed that a lot of the history and science reading is done independently in this level (my first year doing HOD at all). Do you read ahead of your child so you know what they're reading or do you just leave it to them? Or do you have another method of knowing what they're studying to be able...

Re: Getting Ready for CTC

I'm using this post to help get ready for my daughter's first year of HOD. I had a couple questions. For the science notebook, where did you get the question sheets and notebooking pages? Or are those something you created on your own? Also, I noticed it's been quite a few years since this original ...

Re: Doing two studies: CTC and Bigger

One big issue I'm seeing is that C2C is written as a 4-day schedule, but Bigger is a 5-day schedule. It doesn't seem fair to have one child doing an extra day of school than the other. And since the printed schedule in the book can't be easily re-arranged to spread out the C2C for an extra day, I'm ...

Doing two studies: CTC and Bigger

I have seen on other threads people talking about doing two studies at the same time and how they schedule their day to get everything accomplished. However, they are always combining the lower level guides (Little, Beyond, Bigger). Does anyone have any experience or suggestions on combining with C2...

Re: Help with multiple grades

This last year was our first year homeschooling. I purchased all different curriculum for each subject and just don't feel like I can do that again. There was overlapping in some places and missing info in other places along with lots of down time for each as I worked with the other. I need better f...

Help with multiple grades

I am trying to pick a curriculum for my children next year and feel like I'm going to lose my mind before I come to a decision. I have two children in school right now. One is 8 years old and entering 3rd grade. She struggles as a student, but is right on for grade level work. I would never want to ...
