Re: Primary Mathematics 1A

Thanks for the quick replies! You guys are awesome! I'm off to buy the Beyond guide and Math 1A. I'll remember to ask for the discount when I order the rest of the package in the fall. Thanks for that tip :D

Primary Mathematics 1A

Hi all, I've got a quick question about Math 1A that I'm hoping someone can answer before I place my order. :D My dd5 is in LHFHG and is about to finish up the kindergarten math books. I'm planning on ordering Primary Mathematics 1A for her to use to finish out the year. In the back of the LHFHG man...

Re: LHFHG storytime question

Thanks again for everyone's encouragement and stories about how your kids have loved these books. I think that since I'm new to this homeschooling thing, that I'm trying too hard to make sure I'm covering all my bases. I think I just need to follow the guide and not overthink things! I really...

Re: LHFHG storytime question

Thank you so much for both of your responses. They definitely help to ease my mind :) I hadn't even thought that making up stories to tell to my dd would be helpful in building her listening abilities. We do this a lot and now that I know it actually has a purpose, I guess I will keep it up! The Bea...

LHFHG storytime question

Hi, my name is Kathy and I'll be starting my dd5 in LHFHG in August. We did LHTH 2 years ago and loved it and can't wait to get back to HOD! I've been reading here that some kids have a hard time with the Thornton Burgess books and I'm wondering if they might be a problem for my daughter also. She l...

Re: When to start LHTH?

I have a feeling that half speed looks alittle different for everyone, but here is what we are doing for LHTH. We started just after my dd turned 3 in May, and now we are on Unit 15. We usually do "school" about 3 days a week, but sometimes more and sometimes less. I've also got a 1 y/o ds, so somet...

I've been praying for you. Hopefully the doctors are on the right track this time and you can start some type of treatment and get on with life!

Re: After LHTH?

Thanks for everyones replies. It's nice to know we're not the only ones who started "too early" :D My dd is actually REALLY wanting to learn to read; always asking what different words in our stories say, asking how to spell words so that she can write them down, hearing a word and telling me what l...

After LHTH?

I'm just curious what people do for their kids who finish LHTH but are too young to start the next guide. Sorry, can't remember the abbreviation  My daughter will be a little over 4y/o when we finish, and too young to start Kindergarden. Just curious what others have done.

Re: thanks and OT prayer request

Praying for you right now. I finished up treatment for breast cancer a few months ago, but I think I had it alot easier than you. It's still hard no matter what, though. I'll be praying for God's peace and patience to fill you and for a quick recovery! This verse has been my motto for the last year....

Homeschool for young kids

Hi. I'm new posting on this forum but I've been reading about HOD here awhile. I have a question for all of the experienced HOD moms. I've been doing HFHG with my 3 1/2 dd for the last 5 months. We are just now finishing Unit 9 and my daughter and I LOVE it. It is our time together while her younger...
