Re: Oh my I just figured it out but with one problem

Yes help with using two guides would be great. I read all the stuff on here but honestly I must have a mental block because I can't understand it. I can't see how I can ever get my child back to focus after a break or how one will work independently while I work with the other one. My 9yo is such a ...

Re: Oh my I just figured it out but with one problem

We read through most of them last year and we did just do it quickly as fun. Thanks that helps me to know I need to do it the right way and follow the plans.

Re: Oh my I just figured it out but with one problem

We have read all the burgess books that go with little hearts. Am going to look through it again. I know the activities and questions are geared toward certain burgess books so I may just do them again. We love them so much anyway he won't mind but it won't be that first reading thing.

Oh my I just figured it out but with one problem

I'm putting my 7 yo in little hearts. I know he is second grade but he is not reading yet and when I look at the placement chart he fits perfectly. The only thing is we have read all the burgess books. We love them and could easily read them again but I was wondering if some of the other free ones o...

Re: Bigger question

Yes we did beyond this past year. To me there is a big jump in skills from beyond to bigger and I am not sure he is ready. Not that he can't do it I think he can quickly grown into it he just hates to write and, oh what's the word, is not confident in his writing/spelling skills. He knows more than ...

Bigger question

I will be doing Bigger with my 9yo and 7yo this fall. My 7yo is not ready for any of the reading/writing but will listen in on the history and science anyway because anytime I am reading something they must listen. My question is though for my 9yo who is not ready for all the writing in the Bigger g...

Re: Which program to get for my 4 year old and 6 year old?

Beyond is probably too much for a 4yo. 6yo may be fine with it.
Have you looked at the placement charts and placed them accordingly? If you want to keep them together Little Hearts would be better.

Re: HOD vs. Ambleside Online?

I have trouble implementing AO. I have all the resources here that should be able to help me implement it. Leslie Laurio is in our local CM group. We have a wonderful living books library here that will help you with whatever you need and I still have a problem implementing it. We have two wonderful...

Have you used the placement chart? That's the best place to start to see where he places.
Then come back so the great ladies here can walk you through it.

Re: Guilt about using HOD and not planning my own

I have made myself crazy for about 6 months looking at curriculum catalogs. I have even bought several other curricula. I am done. I will stick with HOD as long as it works. If it stops I will do the next thing but I am NOT looking around again.

Help with Bigger

I will be doing Bigger with my 2nd and 4th graders this coming year. I don't think my 4th grader is ready for the extension even though he is an excellent reader I just do think he could handle the extra time. My problem is I have a hard time with the Art box. I read the first week one and just coul...
