Starting highschool credits in 8th grade?

Hi all, I would love some input on something I have been pondering. I live in Colorado and the homeschool law doesn't specifically say when you can start counting classes as credits for highschool. I was reading some of the threads about how to beef up RtR for highschool credit and it got me thinkin...

Using DITHOR 4/5 for a 6th grader?

Hi there... I am new to HOD this year and will be using DITHOR 6/7/8 for my 8th grader. I was planning on using the same level for my 6th grader, but recently wondered whether I should use the 4/5 student book instead. My concern is that if I use the 6/7/8 book now, I will end up using it 3 years in...

Re: Re-introduction

I was just looking through the posts and saw this one. Michelle, we have a few things in common, so I thought I would introduce myself. My name is Katie. In a few months all my kids will be the exact same age as yours. :) I am new to HOD this year, but we too will be using Beyond with my 8 yr old dd...

Science supplies for Bigger

Hi all,
I have a friend who is purchasing Bigger for her dd. Her family is moving to the Ukraine in June. Can anyone tell me what type of supplies are needed for the Science portion of Bigger? My friend wants to make sure she'll have everything on hand.
Thank you! :)

Re: I just got my RTR box for next year!!!

I wanted to chime in and say that I will be doing RtR next year as well! So far I have been able to purchase 1/2 of the books and everything looks so amazing! I will also be doing Beyond with my younger two kiddos... I am new to HOD, so I look forward to journeying next year with everyone. :D Blessi...

Re: Newbie ?s

Thanks once again, Julie! I was able to order last night 1/2 of what I want to get from HOD. I am so excited to get my hands on it! I'll be ordering the other 1/2 once I sell a few more of my older items... :)

Re: Newbie ?s

Thank you, Julie! That was exactly what I was wondering... the LA being tied to Science. I am assuming that there would be other places within RtR to practice written narrations though? It looks like it is a part of the history reading as well from what I can see of the "week's glance" online. We ha...

Re: Newbie ?s

Thanks for the insight! I have read on this forum that when combining multiple ages, some people will use the right side of a higher guide for the LA portion and use the left side of the lower guide. In this case I could potentially use the right side of the Bigger guide (which includes the schedule...

Hi all, I am new to HOD and planning on using Beyond for my upcoming 1st & 3rd graders and then using Res to Ref for my 6th and 8th graders. I have some questions, of course, that I was hoping you ladies could help answer! :) 1. We have already done the Science in Res to Ref but have not done the Sc...
