Re: HOD & Twaddle

When you reach the DITHOR level there is a Sample Book List you can purchase which is a print out of books in each genre and reading level! I love checking it for additional books.

Re: Placement help

I agree with your placement of Little Hearts based on not having had writing instruction yet. You could use the math from beyond if you felt the kindergarten math is too much of a repeat.

high school chemistry

My daughter is about to finish up WH and we are looking at her science for next year. She really doesn't want to do chemistry again, she feels that the chemistry in WG and MTMM was enough!! At this age (she's 16) I feel like she should have some say in the school courses, however, at one time she re...

Re: Dithor with a struggling reader

If you don't want to go down to the level 2 books, which would have been my first suggestion. :D My next suggestion is to read the books at half speed. So one day you would read half the assigned pages and do the dithor page and the next day just read the 2nd half of the assigned pages and then have...

Re: How are you all doing?

Hi from the other side of South Dakota!! We are pretty much like you, doing school as usual. Hubby was already working from home before this 3 days a week and so it's no big deal to have him working from home 5. We took a socially isolated drive (didn't even get out of vehicle) thru Custer State Par...

Re: Any resolutions for the new year?

My goal is to have consistent meeting times with my oldest 2! Checking their work sometimes (often?) gets pushed to the wayside. They are good about telling me when they have a narration or something in the guide specifically says to discuss with teacher but I would really like to go over everything!!

Re: Looking for ideas to keep MAMA accountable

I have this exact problem!! One thing I've started doing is telling my 2nd who is in revtorev to come get me after he does certain boxes. Usually 3 boxes and then we have a short meeting and go over those 3 boxes and plan his next 3. It sometimes means my younger 2 has a short break that is sometime...

Re: Transition from Singapore to Principles of Mathematics

I haven't done TT but I have 2 that have successfully came up through Singapore and switched to Principles of Mathmatics. It went great. I actually like Principles better. I have one that has gone on to algebra and geometry just fine. The other is still in Principles and is doing great.

Re: Can you combine read alouds??

Starting in about the middle of Preparing my older 2 have read their own storytime. So that may be an option for you too. Or doing it in the evening after littles have gone to bed??

Pictures of George Washington hat LHFHG

I have tried searching and cant find a picture of the art activity in Little Hearts, Unit 27 Day 4. It is an open top triangle hat and I just can't figure out how to make it! Does anyone have a picture? I did come up with this week in review but the picture for the hat isn't working. http://www.hear...

Re: Move to next guide or wait until next year?

My DD every year, stops for a summer break in the middle. She does a guide from Jan - Dec. It has always been fine. Maybe choose a time to stop when you are going from one history book to another, since that is a concern for her. My DD kinda likes having a break in the middle and likes starting a ne...

Re: WG literature questions

Thanks Julie! I think we are just going to get all of them & then decide as we go. We have a couple so after subbing it won't be much more. She's finishing unit 31 of mtmm right now so we'll be ordering soon!

Re: WG literature questions

Thanks so much!!!! She said she's read Little Women already but I think it was an abridged copy for young kids. She wants to read Treasure Island but not Ragged Dick. LOL. At some point I'm just going to have to pick for her and she can read the rest on her own! Thankfully she loves to read so it's ...

Re: Which *Book Projects to Send Home* should I buy?

Probably the 4/5 since you have 2 in that one. But they both have different projects and are both very good, most of them you can make work for the 2/3 or use another project. Each genre has 3 projects to choose from and only 1 of the choices comes from the book projects to send home book. Hope that...
