I haven't homeschooled with any delays, either. But I can't imagine a better environment for a child with some delays. You, the parent, love him and have his best interests at heart and he won't get lost in the shuffle. The learning environment can really make a difference for kids. I love LHTH! :D ...

I can totally understand your dilema with where to place them. I truly think this is the hardest step!...but a very important one. I'm sure you'll keep getting great advice. Sorry, none of it will be from me on this one.

But I wanted to pop in and say welcome and hi! :D

My husband would love your user name. He loves hunting, and if money weren't an issue, thinks it would be great to have a Benelli Shotgun.

Lisa, Heading down the road to homeschooling is such a rewarding :D and overwhelming choice!   But, as many of the other ladies have already said, when you are seeking wisdom from God and following Him down this road, you can't beat it! 8)   I have been in your place looking into lots of dif...

Mary, Like Julie said, you really do have the gift of encouragement. Thank you for your recap and nice words! :D Grant was reading The Bears on Hemlock Mountain . I had it it there, but it got kind of messed up. Too many pictures, I think. Ooops! I'll do better next week. :D Kathleen

Thanks Melanie and Susie, too! :D

The only reading I've done on CM was online, and while I learned quite a bit, I felt like I couldn't see straight afterwards!

I just wanted to welcome you...Hi! :D

You already got the information you needed, but I just wanted to claify one thing. Besides the storytime in the Beyond and Bigger guides, there is also a reading schedule and discussion questions for the emerging readers there. It's in the appendix.

Carrie,

I want to say that I'm sorry as well. But I also want to thank you for the kind way that you let us know what your desire is for this message board. I appreciate the direction that you give it.

Keep up the good work!

Sarah, The only HOD program that I've used so far is LHTH, so I'm probably not much help to you. I can tell you that having used Abeka workbooks and Sonlight for preschool with my oldest and then HOD for my second child, I LOVE HOD!! It is simple, but covers so much more and is so well planned! I ha...
