Re: If you've used Preparing, please vote!

We used Preparing over a two year period. My son was 12-13 y/o and my daughter was 10-11 y/o. Loved it.

Re: How many are in the middle of your year?

12 y/o and 10 y/o are in week 27 of Preparing. We are taking 6-8 weeks off for the summer starting next week. We will then resume Preparing.
7 y/o is in week 17 of LHFHG. We will continue working through the summer 3-4 days a week.

Re: Considering Latin roots program...

Check out the WordBuild Foundations and Elements courses by Dynamic Literacy. Definitely fits the bill for short focused lessons. It is pricey, but maybe could be used without the teacher's manual. HTH

Re: room set up for HOD

Hello. We have been homeschooling our 5 children for 18 years, but this is our first year with HOD. We love it! We have never had a classroom per se. My kids do their work at the kitchen counter, the dinning room table, the couch, the floor, and their beds. I may invest in desks this summer for two ...

Re: Mid year change

We have been homeschooling for 18 years, but this is our first year with HOD. I absolutely love it and believe this to be our most productive school year ever! I have always used an ecclectic living books approach, but became frustrated with always trying to pull everything together myself. I also b...

skipped box in RTR unit 12?

Hello. My daughter skipped Box 10 in Unit 12 of RTR. I have read through the manual several times and still can't find what is supposed to go in that particular box. I know I must be reading right over it. Will someone please tell me where to find it? Thank you. Marie

We just finished the exercises requiring a "set square" this week. We used a piece of sturdy card stock. It did the job just fine. HTH

Re: Pilgrim's Progress study in Modern Times

Thank you, Carrie, for your response. I am going ahead with my plans to use AIG's Pilgrim's Progress study this year along with RtR. It will fit perfectly with the time period, and she is at an appropriate age for it. If you end up using it with Modern Times after all, I know the LORD will direct me...

Pilgrim's Progress study in Modern Times

Carrie, Will you be using AIG's Pilgrim's Progress study in Modern Times "for sure"? I was thinking about supplementing with this while using RtR with my 14 yo dd this year due to the time period being studied. However, if PIlgrim's Progress is going to be a main resource in the Modern Times curricu...
