Re: Should I finish the Guides?

Don't think of yourself of behind, just delayed. Being that there are 35 weeks in a guide and 52 weeks in a year, you can catch up to where you originally wanted to be within the next school year or two, while continuing to take an appropriate amount of time off.

Re: LHTH to LHFHG

LHTH actually has 33 Units, so you'll only be short 3 weeks. And I'll echo what the others said: life happens and our perfect plans never work out exactly how we think they will. Just keep plugging along and as you get closer to the end of LHTH you'll know what to do. I speak from experience: don't ...

Re: Dinosaurs of Eden

But remember that the read-alouds cover 9 literary genres, with one book per genre, and when substituting, you have to substitute for a book of equal or lesser value. So, you would not be able to substitute Dinosaurs , a biography genre book, for Carry On, Mr. Bodwitch , the biography book in the Bo...

No worries, the online homeschool world is rife with acronyms, as I'm sure you've found out! Things can get confusing very quickly.

Re: What to do with a young 4 year old after LHTH?

FMS = Fine Motor Skills. Basically, any activity that will assist little ones in strengthening and gaining control over their fingers in preparation for learning to write (cutting, gluing, play-doh, Lego, etc).

Re: LHFHG Singapore Math activities?

Since the math plans are daily and require us to redo every day of math plans in the guide, there won't be a PDF of the changes available. :D Carrie, what about selling a printout of just the new math plans (like the DITHOR Sample Book Ideas List), at a price that makes it worth it to you, to custo...

Re: LHFHG Singapore Math activities?

What about those of us who recently purchased the guide but haven't started using it yet? I wouldn't have purchased it had I known there would be an update before I needed it. Did you buy it through HOD recently? Here's HOD's return policy: Q: What is your return policy? A: You may return any item ...

Re: Help with placement for 5 year old

I just have a quick reply to your concerns about reading: you can use the Emerging Readers with any guide, as needed by your child. My son is using the LHFHG guide as written while working through the ER's and their questions from the Beyond guide. Not a problem. :D When I ordered LHFHG I also neede...

Re: Finished with Emerging readers

You said you don't want to use the DITHOR books you already have, but If I were you I'd have your son read those books now so he can continue progressing, and then I'd buy the next level book pack when you're ready to start DITHOR. That seems like the simplest solution to me, but of course I don't k...

Re: Questions about program

FYI, if you want the hands on activities Carrie wrote to go with the 1st grade math you'll need to purchase the Beyond guide. From what I've read, it's worth getting the Beyond guide just for those activities, and then you'll already have it for the next year.
