Re: writing in RevtoRev??
Yes, hopefully someone with more details will respond! :-) I do know that written narrations and written research are part of RTR, and those skills are surely continued and expanded in RevtoRev. You can find the table of contents for R&S 5 here if that might be helpful: http://www.rodandstaffbooks.c...

Re: writing in RevtoRev??
I'm sure others more knowledgeable will chime in, but I do know in addition to the creative writing book, your dd will learn some of the other skills (outlining, research, etc.) in R&S English. Re: Reading (storytime, etc)
In CTC, storytime is designed to do together with you reading aloud. You could read to her during lunch. That might be a very good option. Independent History is not always reading--sometimes it is listening to a CD, sometimes drawing with Draw & Write Through History, sometimes copying, often looki...

Re: Another Medieval Writing question
Thanks, Carrie. I actually got to look at this first-hand and I believe it will do exactly what I need...it will use the detailed, "formula-style" process to give my son the tools he will need to then launch out and apply these skills on his own and at a more advanced level. I already placed my orde...

Re: Another Medieval Writing question
Thanks, Carrie. I can see benefits of using this program and my ds thinks the topics would be awesome. I think what I am asking is...after going through the Medieval Writing Lessons, but recognizing all kids' abilities are different, in general will a child have the tools and skills necessary to the...

Re: Where/When Covered
It might help to look at the Table of Contents for the R&S books...you can find them here: http://www.rodandstaffbooks.com/list/Building_Christian_English_Series/ Or check R&S's scope & sequence for English here: http://samples.rodandstaffbooks.com/1-19118/#6 I'm not a long-time user but am pretty c...

Another Medieval Writing question
I have another question about Medieval Writing Lessons used in RTR. Does IEW also help in teaching students to write "original" work? I can see how the KWO's and using source material helps them to learn the structure, but at some point do they transition to coming up with their own topic, finding t...

Re: I have homeschooled for 14 years and
Another very-long-time homeschooler here...very happy with using HOD for the first time this year! Wish I had been able to use it for some of my olders, but trust that God will use what I did/am doing with them for His glory and His purposes.

Re: Legend of Squanto in RTR
Has anyone sorted this out? We already own The Legend of Squanto. From the insert in mine, Disc 1 has 9 tracks and Disc 2 has 11 tracks. Just wondering if our tracks will line up with the guide.

Re: Seeing the next guide is serving as a motivator
We won't have opportunity to see RTR at our convention, but just looking at the (old :( ) catalog, my ds is excited! What has especially motivated him as we finish out this year is that we had a couple of friends come to look at what we are doing as they plan for next year. Having someone from the "...

Medieval Writing Lessons (RTR)
Which lessons are omitted from the Medieval History-Based Lessons in RTR? Or if it is easier, which ones are covered?
Thanks!
Thanks!
