Hi Tammy! This Biology science resource has recently been revised by the publisher to create a new 4th Edition. Since this revision is a major one, requiring a complete rewrite of 140 daily plans and key ideas, we will not be doing a stuffer and are in the process of updating the World History guide...

Re: Preparing student sheets for 20/21?

Thanks so much for checking back on this! I talked with Mike and Carrie, and we currently are estimating to have them out around October of this year 2020. Amidst health concerns, the web and catalog redesign, unforeseen updates Carrie has had to write, and sadly the passing away of our graphics des...

Re: Combining for Jr/Sr High LA

Hi Rice! I just wanted to let you know I read this and took notes to share with Carrie. You have much going on with a large family, and I can see how combining for composition would streamline precious teaching time. Plus, it sounds like you piloted something similar with your olders, and it worked ...

Re: A Detailed Scope and Sequence?

Wow! Those Excel spreadsheets are amazing! I'm very impressed! I can see how the color-coding and spreadsheets help you visually plan out the upcoming years for your kiddos, and I think you have wonderful plans coming together here for each of your kiddos to get the most out of HOD with the years th...

Re: Organizing Preparing Hearts

Does anyone have a suggestion for setting up BHFHG and LHFHG? Thanks for sharing that link from my original post on setting up BHFHG! Since then, Photobucket has had some issues. They were supposed to be resolved, but I see the images are still not showing. Frustrating! Anyway, I recently did a blo...

Re: A Detailed Scope and Sequence?

I'd love to have you look this over and share your thoughts on any/all of it! Julie, Thank you for all this information, I really appreciate it. It'll probably take me all weekend to digest this but I have already begun to study your suggestions. I am assembling a list of follow-up questions :) and...

Re: A Detailed Scope and Sequence?

Hi Linda! Thanks for sharing about each of your children - that really helps! The chart was also very helpful! I work for Heart of Dakota, and one of my jobs (that I enjoy very much) is to help families with placement. I took notes on what you've shared, and I have a few thoughts about placement I'l...

Re: A Detailed Scope and Sequence?

Hello Linda! Each Introduction of the guide explains the scope and sequence for the year. Heart of Dakota doesn't schedule a typing course, as many are available and easy to add. I had each of my sons do Typing Instructor one summer, and they are all 3 good typists! While the computer is used for re...

Re: Dictation

Hi Sally! What guide is he using? I'd start with the lowest level of dictation in that guide and see how it goes! Usually the guide a student places in matches the dictation levels befitting their abilities. I find my kiddos are well-placed when missing a passage and having to repeat it now and then...

Re: Roll Call: What are your starting/stopping/taking a break plans?

This has been fun reading everyone's responses! I cannot believe how much everyone's kiddos have grown! We too enjoy taking our summers off, but since it was looking like many things the boys do will be cancelled due to the pandemic (church group things, swimming, basketball, etc.), we were thinking...
