Composers Study in Rev to Rev

My son will be doing Missions to Modern Marvels this next school year. I would like to add in the Composer Study from Rev to Rev. Just wondering if it's easy to set up a schedule for it without the Rev to Rev Teacher Manual. How many times a week is it typically done? Thanks for any help with this. ...

Re: Worksheets in R&S English

Yes, I use the Worksheets for Grade 3. We cover most everything either orally or on the white board. Sometimes I'll have him use a notebook for something. I always check to see if there is a worksheet to go with the lesson and he does the worksheet if there is one. We may or may not cover everthing ...

Re: Bigger - Should I do it again...

Her writing is coming along fine. She is learning cursive this year but is printing her copywork at this point. She is a little slow in her reading and that is why I have the concerns that I do. She is doing the emerging readers now. I held her off to do easier reading for a while before putting her...

Re: Bigger - Should I do it again...

Thanks for your insight Julie! I have started her out full speed doing everything. It's early yet but other than it taking her longer to finish than her brother, she is doing really well. She is doing very nice notebooking work that rivals her brother's work. :) I think she is certainly ready for th...

Re: Bigger - Should I do it again...

Does your 9 year-old do all the follow-ups with the extensions? Written narrations and everything? Just curious as I haven't been doing that with my dd. Since we seem to have plenty on our plate this year, I haven't had him do any of the follow-ups for the extensions. I started out not knowing if h...

Re: Bigger - Should I do it again...

Thanks Melissa, I think that's what I'm doing. I'm planning to have her binder ready for next week and we'll see where she is by the time we start Preparing. I know what you mean about combining being a sanity saver. It's been wonderful having them combined these last few years. If I do end up needi...

Bigger - Should I do it again...

In the past I combined my son and daughter into LHFHG and Beyond. This year I wanted to separate them so I put my son age 9 (young 4th grader) into Bigger with extensions. He is doing well. I started my 7 year old (young 2nd grader) doing something else with emphasis on the 3 Rs for her. (I wanted t...

Re: If you are using MtMM for a High Schooler:

I am using MtMM for my 9th grader. This is what we are doing: MtMM History w/extensions and adding All American History Vol.1 in order to get a full credit for US History Economics: Adding in "A Bluestocking Guide: Economics" to the already scheduled "Whatever Happened to Penny Candy?" and "Common S...

Re: M2MM for 9th grade...someone please direct me...

I just wanted to relate my experience in case this might help someone. I live in TN and we enroll in a church school instead of registering with the state. Anyway, it basically consists of enrolling every year, sending them your educational plan each year, turning in grades 2x a year and they keep a...

Re: Combining K and 2nd grader

Carrie, I just wanted to update you on my 8th grade dd doing RTR with extensions. We received our boxes yesterday...yea! what fun!! My dd looked through her books and got so excited! She said, "Mom I don't feel like these books are too young for me like I did last year!" She is so glad that she is d...

Re: New to homeschooling and very excited

Welcome Mandie! I hope you have a great year! I've homeschooled "forever" like Susie :) but this is my 2nd year with HOD. I am doing LHFHG with my K & 2nd grader with my 2nd grader doing Beyond right side options and both doing Beyonds Classic read alouds. Our box comes tomorrow so we are super exci...

Thanks Carrie, that's good advise. We'll just see how things go and analyze things next year. :D
