Re: Help with US1 and US2 LA
Christianmom, thank you so much for your reply! We have also used CLE English I. It's nice to know your son enjoyed the creative writing portion so much and that you used the extra time to allow him to write longer stories. Thank you for sharing that the Constitutional Literacy involves so much crit...

Help with US1 and US2 LA
Hi, We are considering US1 for my dd, who will be a junior this fall. She is solid in grammar and has had practice with the different types of essays and MLA formatting/research papers. I think she would like the creative writing in US1, but I also want to continue to shore up her essay writing as w...

American poetry
Hi,
Is American poetry covered in the US1 guide? If not, when is it covered? Is there something I could add to the US1 guide to cover it?
Thanks,
Kathy

High School Vocabulary
Hi,
I understand that vocabulary is one of the four components of the high school English credit. Can you please tell me how it is covered in the high school guides?
Thanks!

Re: WH Biology
It looks like the videos for the 4th edition are mostly the labs and not as extensive as the dvds (althought the videos look fantastic!). How much of what was covered in the dvds previously will we be missing out on in the 4th edition? I was reading Carrie's original thread introducing the WH scienc...

High School Grading Samples
Hi, I have a rising 9th grader and have been looking at the introduction to the WG guide. I was wondering if you would consider posting samples of the grading pages actually filled in. When I look at these pages, I see percentages for the different areas, but not exactly how to come up with the scor...

Re: RTR IEW Checklist
Thanks, Victorytrain. We already have been writing in the workbook and wrote on the checklist itself, so I'm trying to determine if it would be best to rip it out and keep it with the writing assignment. I'm not sure what was intended.
Thanks,
Kathy

RTR IEW Checklist
Hi,
The IEW guide says the student is to turn in their final draft with the checklist for that lesson paper-clipped to it, and then store the checklist with the paper in the binder. Are we to rip it out of the student book?
Thanks,
Kathy

Re: French
Thank you! We are trying an online class, and will see how it goes. The teacher supplements the text and worksheets with Duolingo, so I'm thankful my dd already has experience with it.
Hopefully the class will work out!

Re: RTR and extensions
We are returning to HOD, and my dd has covered U.S. History the past three years and really wanted to go back to Medieval. I also want to make sure she is getting the narration instruction she needs. I also suspect she has mild dyslexia, so I'm trying to not overburden her with too much reading. We ...

I traveled to South Dakota as a child, but I didn't remember these long summer days! They really helped us make the most of our trip!
