Re: Breakthrough - Learn to Read - An Ant

Don't you just love the breakthroughs in homeschooling? I have to confess I am envying you still having little ones. Mine grew up much too fast, but I am cherishing memories of moments like you described! :D

Re: Feeling Discouraged...Struggling w/ 6YO

Your post caught my eye, as I also love MOTH and use it to schedule our days. I now have a high schooler and a college student and we still use a schedule! :) Here are a few thoughts, in case any of them might be helpful to you: Could you flip flop the right side of LHFHG and computer time? That wou...

Re: Res to Ref and Mystery of History

Right. I know they use other resources. Just wondering why MOH begins at unit 15. Res to Ref was designed when there was only a volume 1, so just wondering what in the first part of volume 1 prompted the decision to use other resources until unit 15. There's a MOH second edition now and a lot was c...

Re: Res to Ref and Mystery of History

Instead of using MOH1 or MOH2, HOD uses other (phenomenal) resources to cover the history up until the time period of MOH3. (MOH3 is not used in RTR until Unit 15.)

New Catalog

I just have to pop on here and say that I absolutely LOVE the new catalog and was so excited to get it in the mail today!!! :D :D :D I especially like the larger size, which is easier for me to read. I just wish I were able to have had many more children. I am NOT ready for my HOD journey to end in ...

Re: Visual History Set & Other Guide Samples

It’s on the website- if you are shopping for the packages it shows you where on the guide it is and it tells you how often. Visual History says 4 days and is highlighted on the music box. Music is highlighted in the same spot and says 1 day a week. https://heartofdakota.com/package/beyond-little-he...

Re: Visual History Set for Beyond

Even though we are beyond Beyond (no pun intended! :D), I wanted to order the set for our home library. I am not seeing it on the website. Will it be ready for the spring sale?

Re: 8th Grade Placement for Student with Delays

I did take a look at Resurrection to Reformation and skills-wise it seems a bit too advanced for the 13 year old. I think I misread your first post. I was thinking you were considering Rev2Rev, which is why I recommended RTR, as it would be less advanced. As I re-read your post, I think you were ju...

Re: 8th Grade Placement for Student with Delays

First of all, congratulations on finding HOD and choosing to stay long term. You won't regret your decision! You not only have an excellent curriculum, but the support HOD provides is outstanding. Whenever I have called with a question, Julie has talked with my extensively, giving me great advice. I...

Re: MTMM for highschool

I live in NY, too. :-) We used HOD from Beyond on up for my son, who is just finishing up his first year of college at a local university (well, actually, he's attending two separate universities, pursuing two separate degrees at the same time ... oh, my! ) I was surprised when I discovered ...

P.S. Christianbook.com has all five volumes for sale in e-book form. I personally am not a fan of e-books, but it is an option.

Re: History Lives series

Are the books good? We have enjoyed them in our home and found them a beneficial part of our studies. :-) If you are planning on using HOD long-term, it might be a good idea to pick them up. Then again, if they are going out of stock, Carrie will probably rewrite that part of the guide with new res...
