Re: Singapore math and fact memorization
This is my 1st year with HOD but my 6th with Singapore. My boys math skills are good but they are not as fast as I think they should be with their facts. I have tried to be more diligent with some extra drills and facts practice this year. I wish I would have been more consistent with this kind of p...

Nebraska Homeschooling ???
Are there any homeschooling moms in Nebraska out there who could give me some info on how to find state laws, etc. and info on support groups in the area? I have a friend of a friend who is looking for this info. She is in Omaha. Thanks

Re: A great homeschooling moment!
Had a similar moment this week :!: We are at the same place in PHFHG and my middle son looks at me and says "I am going to be a missionary because there is nothing more important than knowing Jesus!" I asked where he wanted to go and he said he did not know yet. I asked if I could go, too and he sai...

Re: Preparing-reciepe
Found it! And I am so glad you asked because somehow we missed doing that so we may try it now. It was Unit 6 Day 3. In a bowl mix together 1 1/2 cups flour, 1/2 tsp salt and 1 tsp baking powder. Next, cut 4 Tbls butter and add to the mixture. Rub the butter into the mixture with your fingers until ...

Re: Using Prepaing for almost 8 year old
I am currently using Preparing for both my 10 year old (who will be 11 in 2 weeks) and my 8 year old (who just turned 8 in July). My older son uses the extension pack. It is my heart to keep them together and this program allows me to do so, and do it well. The program works well with their ages and...

Re: Adventure book for storytime
My boys enjoyed it last year, too (ages 7 and 9 then). As with almost all the books we read, they don't seem to get into until we are in a few chapters .

Re: Help I must have an older copy of CHOW!
In my non-HOD CHOW chapter 4 is 22-26 and in my HOD CHOW the pages for chapter 4 are 16-19, just as listed in the teacher's guide. The reading is the same in both books, just different pages. Does that help any?

Re: Help I must have an older copy of CHOW!
I had the same problem. All 1997 editions are not the same even though they appear to be the same from looking at the cover and checking the publishing date. Unfortunately there is no ISBN to check out. The edition used by HOD in PHFHG is 7" x 9.5" and the one I had that does not work with the guide...
