Re: Can I get input on my options?

Thanks so much for your input. ladies! DD is doing such a good job on her own reading in Preparing that I do believe that starting over and reading the "I" boxes will be good for her. Now I have to convince her of that! :) Well, not now, but soon. Her best friends are going to be using CTC next year...

Can I get input on my options?

Hi Ladies, Thanks for taking a look at my ponderings and offering your opinions. I appreciate the help and suggestions! :) We used Beyond with my dd and ds combined a few years ago. Then we skipped Bigger and Preparing for different reasons. Fast forward and I found CTC and really wanted to use it, ...

Re: Is there a thread with credits listed for guides?

Thanks, Carrie! I am encouraged by ds's progress and ability. I just posted the other day on another forum that the building of independence is one thing that I love about HOD! :D I think the biggest issue we are facing is the written narrations for history. DS is one of those detail people so he wa...

Re: Sneak Peek at New Guide: Missions to Modern Marvels

Agreeing with all of you! The Elements is one I purchased, but we have not gotten very far into it before we started RTR with the astronomy. So now I can put it away with a clear view of using it for the future! Yeah! :D I think that Carrie also mentioned that we would be using another of the author...

OHHHH, Missions to Modern Marvels......love the sound of that already! My ds will be anxious to get to that guide.....he is a lover of all things missionary! Thanks to all the ladies and Carrie, for making the whole high school thing easier. :? I want to have my kids use as much of the material in t...

Re: Is there a thread with credits listed for guides?

Thanks Julie and water2wine, I have been checking out the beefing up threads so I am getting familiar with those and the link to the thread you posted, Julie, was helpful. I will look that over closer as well. I guess I still am a bit confused on the credits and I think the fault is mine for not bei...

Re: How we shaved off around 10 minutes of math time each day

Great idea, Julie!

We actually did the same thing with our Rod and Staff student English book. I think they are around $10-$13 per book and I just let the kids do most things in the book. :D

Is there a thread with credits listed for guides?

Hi Carrie, I am looking at your different posts about HOD for high school and I wonder if there is or will be a place that lists credits for different guides in order to use them for a transcript. Maybe my question is premature because only Rev2Rev with extensions is written for high school. Hope th...

Getting ready for RTR.....

Hi Ladies,
Last week Julie posted some pics on how she set up her notebook etc. for Rev to Rev and I was wondering if anyone has a link with the same idea of RTR? I tried the search tool, but nothing came up.

Thanks for your help and direction,
Sherry

Carrie or Julie, a question about HS guide plans.

Hi, We are planning to have our dc take CLEP tests in high school to accumulate college credit and save on college costs. Do you the high school guides will include enough content to enable a student to pass those type of tests? I realize the guides have not been written yet, but if you have an idea...

Re: Half speed Rev2Rev for time purposes?

Hi, Thanks for responding! :) Yeah, we would do the program 5 days a week, but the biggest problem is that we are not going to ship the material over for next year (we live overseas) and then turn around, bring it back to the US, use it for ds in the US and then ship it back over to use for dd at a ...

Half speed Rev2Rev for time purposes?

Hi, I have been searching the forum to find someone in my boat, but I can only find half speed questions/posts for the younger grades so here goes! :) For my ds, we are finishing up CTC and will begin RTR in September after my materials arrive. We have a bit over a year until our furlough so we will...

Re: Weight of RTR?

Thanks Julie, I am actually going to have it sent to a friend in the US to bring over. It is way too stressful and expensive to ship things over here! Just to get it material out of customs costs almost 100% of the cost of the material. :? I think it will fit in one footlocker and then we ju...

Re: Questions about Write with the Best (CTC) and IEW (RTR).

Thanks for your replies, Ladies! I appreciate the input and advice. Since both of you have gone through the WWTB, maybe you can tell me how you did the Day 1 of each of the units. I find that the labeling of the adjectives, adverbs, etc. can get a bit tedious and sometimes confusing. We have done R ...
