Re: some help for 5..possibly 6 kids:)

my3sons, Thank you for remembering me:) lol Truly, I can already feel the relief that comes when there isn't so much "stuff" around. We are moving stuff out of here right and left:) Shoes, clothes, toys... if it hasn't been missed while shoved in a bin...it's outta here:) Thank you for all of your r...

Re: some help for 5..possibly 6 kids:)

Thank you ladies for your suggestions. I left my post this morning and headed to the park and did some thinking in the fresh air:) I think the idea of Beyond is a good one. I always feel like I should be giving Cassie material as close to grade level as possible. the thing is, that just doesn't work...

some help for 5..possibly 6 kids:)

I LOVE HOD. We have used it with total success and then again without total success. That being my innability to keep up with it all. But, the only time I was actually able to fully complete a year of curriculum (in a year...lol) was with HOD. I am determined to make it work in the fall. Goal #1 is ...

Re: Those with High School Experience

My problem is I am terrible at adding in my own things. I find if it isn't scheduled, it wont get done. i am just not sure from year to year who will be home with me for sure. I don't really want to start something in 9th that will have to be completed in 12th for credit. kwim? Or am I completely mi...

Re: Those with High School Experience

He can definitely place in the Rev to Rev in every category right now. He would be able to jump in to the new guide next year. I would add... make sure you look at the program placement chart. That way you can place you child in the correct guide. Then we can brainstorm how to write up your high sch...

Re: Those with High School Experience

Oh Ladies I knew you could clear my frazzled brain:) (What I meant by 3 Histories is we are required to have 3 full credits in History: US, world, and Government.) I just wasn't sure how I could label the guides in terms of these three requirements. You have cleared it up for me, at least enough to ...

Those with High School Experience

I posted this directly to Carrie in the post that links to the new program coming in the fall, but I know she is so very busy and I am bringing my questions to you ladies who have always been so helpful to me in the past. Here is the post I have a quick question regarding the new program:) My DS has...

Re: Sneak Peeks: New Guide Missions to Modern Marvels

Hi Carrie!! I have a quick question regarding the new program:) My DS has been in PS for a few years and we are very seriously considering him coming back home for highschool. The only year at home that he "completed" a full curriculum ... without slacking off, was 6th grade when he did CTC! HE LOVE...

Re: Weekin review :week leading up to christmas eve

Looks great! I realize that when I don't stick to a schedule we are a mess around here also! My dd follows me around asking "now what do I do". Nice to be back and able to follow behind you. We are on Week three of Beyond with Cassie:)

Re: CTC - Apologia Land Animals - notebook pages?

My son did CTC last year. The notebook pages are amazing, but yes they are for History. That being said however, they have you create a science notebook. The way HOD has you move through the Apologia book is very set and clear in the guide. There really would be no need for additional materials, alt...

I couldn't wait!

I officially started back in with HOD. I decided it wasnt worth it to drudge through 5 more months of frustrated schooling and lots of holes in our learning. I sold some old cores that had been handed down to me (which I never used..lol) and bought Preparing and I had Beyond. So we are on wk 3 beyon...

Re: Will Rev-to-Rev be available this fall for 2011-2012 yr?

me too, I'm going in June! We are definitely using the new program for our son who will be in 8th next year. We couldn't do hod this year with the older kids and I AM SO FRUSTRATED trying to make my own curriculum. I forget stuff all the time and i do NOT have self motivated kids. Philadelphia? Mayb...

Re: OT: Advice/prayer/encouragement desperately needed!

My prayers are with you. I am praying that having your precious ds inpatient right now has given you the opportunity to have a few moments of regrouping with your other dear children. I am praying that with this small window of time you all can step back and with the counselors help form some kind o...

Re: Youngers bypassing older siblings?

Thank you for your encouragement. I am going to begin Beyond with cassie this coming week. (It just came in the mail :D ) I will then re assess in the summer and see where everyones skills are at that time. If the girls are close, then maybe it will actually help her to have someone to work with. So...
