Re: About Bigger Hearts...

Hello familygirl, I am going to copy what I just wrote a minute ago to someone else asking if Bigger is "challenging enough" for their older child. It won't answer your questions directly, but I hope it is at least a help and a starting point: "I am currently using Bigger with a 7,11,12 year old and...

Re: Uhh, where to begin?

Hi Shannon, I have used it most successfully with my older 2, but include my 7 year old in the activities that he can concentrate on. We are currently doing the Old Testament lapbook that she offers and my 7 year old is a bit slower and needs my encouragement to keep going but he's beginning to hand...

Re: I'm back with questions....

. Someone suggested on another board to only switch one subject when switching approaches. I am thinking Bible (we haven't actually been incorporating Bible), history and possibly science as a start. My son likes for me to read to him, but I'm not sure about lots and lots of pages??? Tina Dear Tina...

Re: Uhh, where to begin?

I am currently using Bigger with a 7,11,12 year old and we LOVE it! For my older 2 we are successfully using the extension books. We do our own Math (TT7) and we are involved with a local Science Competition (Envirothon). These 2 subject areas definitely needed more of something and thankfully we al...

Re: Waiting until fall???

[quote="Lynnw"]Yep - I'm right there with you. I just decided on HOD a couple months ago. I'm on week 7 of Beyond with my 7 and 5yo and planning to start Preparing with my oldest on Monday. This was my harder choice because I wanted to start him on CTC in the fall, but I wasn't happy with what we we...

Re: Help in Ordering, and Q about R & S and Igniting Your Writin

Dear friend, Because you have not yet used HOD yet, I highly suggest that you start with Bigger for both of your children and add the extension package for your older son. This will allow you to stay in American History. I am currently using Bigger with a 7, 11 & 12 year old and it is NOT too much. ...

Re: My son wants to plow through his emerging readers...??

Would you be willing to accept our 2nd-hand readers if we can mail them to you? That way you can keep his HOD readers for "school" and use these for his new-found-love to read!

Re: NEW! Using BHFHG with extension package.

Wow! That is great new to me! If you are finishing up Preparing and still have great excitement - Ohhh! I can't wait for next year! Now, Julie, I was just reading an old post of yours as I am trying to do a little more research. ABOUT LHTH with my 4 year old next year in our mix with Preparing? What...

Re: NEW! Using BHFHG with extension package.

Thank you, Carrie, for personally responding. Your affirmation to my plan - especially concerning my oldest child - means a whole lot! With all the positive response concerning DITHR I am now very excited to try this with all 3 of my boys - not immediately, but next school year. We are so enjoying B...

Re: What is the Workbox System

I'm just now organizing my workbox system for my family and have seen an immediate increase in work done with my independent workers. It helps me stay organized too! Here's some links to a friends blog: Her whole site is great but here is the link to the post specifically on the workbox system. http...

Re: NEW! Using BHFHG with extension package.

Oh you did answer my questions! AND in the way that you did you confirmed my decision to go with HOD and BHFHG for everyone for now..... I've been looking at DITHR and think that is exactly what they need and it's really laid out nicely for me to allow independence for my older ones and yet keep the...

NEW! Using BHFHG with extension package.

Hello. We are new to HOD having made a mid-year switch from another curriculum for many reasons, but mostly because what we were doing while having a CM style it was too much for us to keep up with. We liked almost everything we did. It was just too much. A friend using BLHFHG had me look at what sh...
