Hi.
I am going to be using RTR this year and am wondering if someone could provide a complete list of supplies needed. (e.g. 3-ring binder, art supplies, history supplies, etc?). Also, is there anyone who stretches the 4 day schedule out into 5 days??
Thank you!

Re: CTC notebooking challenge
Hi, I am doing CTC and am having some trouble fitting my (cursive) writing into the Scripture boxes too! Just wondering if I am doing this correctly (or should I shrink my writing ) Maybe the boxes could've been made bigger? Maybe for future programs the boxes could be made bigger for the Scripture ...

Joyous prayer yesterday - Thanks
Just wanted to say how happy I am that when we got to the end of Dinosaurs of Eden, and a prayer for salvation is written, I asked my two daughters 9 and 11 if they ever wanted to pray that prayer with myself or there dad, to let us know. They both expressed an overwhelming desire to do so, even tho...

Good first day of school- Thanks
I'd just like to say, thanks to HOD, we had a pretty smooth first day of school. This is our second year with HOD and my oldest started CTC, while my youngers are finishing up Beyond before moving into Bigger. We had a really rough June and July where I was on bedrest and then we lost our little boy...

Re: Lessons I learned
That's really true. I learned the placement chart is quite accurate. What throws me off is thinking where my child "should" be for his age/grade instead of where they are really at. Trust the placement chart otherwise your kids may not enjoy their year and neither will you

Re: Bigger independence question
Just wanted to say thanks Julie for your help. Sorry this is late but last time I was here I got interupted and didn't get to thank you for your ideas and links. I'm going to follow your advice and see how it goes. :) Thanks to you and Carrie for all your patience with the many questions your receiv...

Bigger independence question
Hi, I've decided to combine my middle two kids in Bigger this year. One is in grade 2 and the other in Grade 5. My oldest is in CTC (grade 7) but honestly my grade 5er academically is much closer to the grade 2er than the older one. One of her problems is distraction and independence. Also my younge...

More Practice Handwriting Question
Hi Carrie or Julie or others,
My two middle children both did Cheerful Cursive and loved it. However, I think they need another year of structured handwriting program (besides the Bigger assignments they will be doing this year) What do you recommend after Cheerful Cursive?
Thanks,
Shannon

Re: OT: Child who wants to become a teacher?
I agree with the last poster. My girls to have expressed that desire and it's somewhat of a dilemma mentally isn't it? I think as they grow up, things will change so you never know where this desire will lead. My prayer is that hopefully they would use that God given desire to homeschool as they wer...

Re: Need help choosing
Thanks for your help and patience, Carrie. My other thought is taking a year and doing Canadian History with the 7 and 10 year olds HOD style. I'd do the other aspects of Bigger but substitue the History with a CM type of book called My First Candian History by Donald Dickie written for younger chil...

Need help choosing
Okay, I'm really divided with my curriculum choices. My oldest will be doing CTC. My second oldest (will be 10 in Oct.) has currently been doing Beyond History(with her younger sister, 7) and Bigger Science. She's halfway through R&S 3. I originally started her with the oldest this year in Bigger bu...

Bigger DITHOR and Storytime?
If I were to do Bigger with my 7 and 9 year old next year, (both just finished Emerging Readers this year) would it be more important to use 2/3 DITHOR or the Bigger Storytime box? I don't think I have the time to do both and they seem a bit of an overlap. Any opinons?
Thanks,
Shannon
Thanks,

Preparing at half-speed or Bigger?
Hi, I posted this question awhile ago but hoping to get a little more advice :D My oldest will be using CTC. Next two daughters, are currently doing Beyond together with Bigger science and Bigger LA. They will be 10 and 6. Technically I should be doing Bigger with one and Preparing with the other bu...

Re: To bring them home from ps or not...?
Gosh, what a deep and real conversation has gone on in these threads. The part about "plan, plan, plan", I don't think I have bi-polar issues, but catch me during that certain time of the month and I'm a different woman! It's amazing what hormones can do. I'm beginning to think I'm bi-polar on a mon...
