Hidden Treasures in Philippians

Can anyone tell me if it matters what Bible translation you use with this book? We only use the KJV, so I'm wondering if this book will work for us. Alot of times when a book says it can be used with any version, it doesn't really work with the KJV. I'm hoping we will be able to use Hidden Treasures...

Re: HS Research Paper - What does Carrie plan?

I've been wondering this myself. We'll be doing Revival to Revolution for 9th and then the Modern Times guide for 10th. I'm wondering if I'll need to add something to teach my son how to write a research paper.

Re: Notebooking with Bigger Hearts

I think it's okay for the drawings to not be fantastic. :D I don't have a handy picture of that notebooking page, but I do have one from Unit 2 that you can look at: https://picasaweb.google.com/vondermusic7/BiggerScienceNotebookingUnit2?authkey=Gv1sRgCPLjhuD027TS9QE I just looked back at the page ...

Re: Notebooking with Bigger Hearts

The notebooking part of Bigger can be quite a growth experience. Both of my dc struggled with it somewhat at the beginning. I tried to gently guide them and gradually expect better results and as I looked through their notebook from last year, I saw they did improve tremendously. Try to encourage y...

Notebooking with Bigger Hearts

My son is not doing well with the notebooking :( . He is doing a GREAT job with everything else. But, the drawing assignments are making him cry, just about everytime! He does fine with the copywork that is involved, it's just the drawing that frustrates him. It's so confusing because he can draw we...

Re: We didn't finish school yesterday.

I LOVE HOD!! A couple of days ago my oldest son said, "You know, I am beginning to really enjoy school again... just like when we did Preparing." (We took a year between Preparing and CTC and used another curriculum, so that is what he was comparing it to). And today I was telling him to be sure and...

Re: Who is doing Bigger this year?

My 9 year old son will be doing Biggers. I haven't set a for sure start date yet but we may start back next Monday. I'm really looking forward to it! I've wanted to do Biggers for two years and now we are finally getting the opportunity.

Re: I have a problem with the use of this word in a HOD book

I'm from the deep south (LA-lower Alabama) and I use this term all the time! I guess it is how you are brought up! Interesting... I'm also from the deep South (LA-lower Alabama). I have lived here my whole life (43 years) and I have never heard anyone use this word!! We read Reddy Fox awhile back. ...

Re: Workbox System and HOD?

I use plastic file boxes, the ones that are made for file folders. Each child has only two main boxes: a Math/Science box and a Language Arts box. The bulk of their books and materials fit into those boxes. We keep our history books, read-alouds and readers on a shelf right next to where we keep the...

Re: Bigger Hearts good for 4th grader?

My 4th grader will be using Bigger Hearts next year. He will using most of the Extension Package. He will be using R&S 3, instead of 2. We don't use Singapore so he will just resume what we have been using for math. He has already used some of the cursive book so he will just continue from where he ...

I think reading anything outloud just takes longer than silent reading. I think I will get a copy of the book and pre-read it.

Thank you! I guess it doesn't really matter. I'm just curious. I bet the unabridged is really long. I'm glad to hear that you liked it!

The Cat of Bubastes

I just realized that the audio book of The Cat of Bubastes used in CTC is an abridged version. I'm just wondering why an abridged version was chosen?? Is it because of the length of the full version or are there content issues? Also, could a 7th grader who is a very strong reader just read the book ...

Re: OT: Way off Topic, but feel lead to ask

Yes, I will pray. I have two children but very, very much wanted to have more. Unfortunately, I had to have a complete hysterectomy last December. I am just now in the last few weeks beginning to get myself together. This is the most painful thing I have ever gone through yet I can only imagine your...
