We're back for more HOD!!!

After spending this past year moving our family, remodeling the new house, and seeking intensive therapy for our oldest dd, we are back to HOD! Because of all of the time commitments, this past year was spent doing the 3R's via workbooks. What a yucky year of school. We truly missed the wonderful ti...

Re: Placement Question

Thank you for taking the time to copy the dictation for me, Lee Ann! That is a perfect level for her! She is capable of that level of dictation, but it will be a challenge.

Placement Question

My dd10 has tremors and PDD-NOS (high functioning on autism spectrum.) After looking at the placement chart, I feel her best fit would be Preparing Hearts. The only area that she is not up to speed in is the writing box. She hasn't learned all of her cursive letters yet, but she can read cursive wri...

Re: Frustrated with Handwriting!

your ds sounds a lot like my "supposed to be in 2nd grade" dd! my dd has tremors and eye problems that cause her issues, but still.... I am in the same boat as you as far as trying to figure out what to do. we also use HWT, and my daughter understands math, but the facts escape her no matter how muc...

multiple curriculum guides

I have an idea I think I will be using. I am going to combine my 2 children (7dd-2nd grade & 6ds-K) on BeyondLH for everything except the math & language portions, and then buy the instructor guide for Bigger to have lesson plans for my 7dd's math & language. Because we did Little Hearts this past s...

Better books all the way!

I have a late vote for the best choice of litterature. I think the extra cost is worth it, especially if the book is beautiful to look at.

What a great help!

Thank you for your schedule my3sons! I am going to start my 5 year-old doing "school stuff" officially this coming January, and I wasn't sure how I was going to do it. Now I have some good insight into how I can arrange my soon to be 7yo's schedule and his schedule! Thank you for taking the time to ...

order

We always do math and language arts first so that our minds are fresh and bodies are ready to sit -- and because it is my daughter's least favorite! When I do the read-aloud and history time I let them play with blocks/legos while I read as long as they can answer the questions at the end of the tim...

Using it for 1st & K

We have researched many curriculums for our oldest daugther because of a significant fine motor delay that she has. We decided on this curriculum because it allowed us to choose our own phonics program that wasn't dependent on handwriting, it was Christ centered, thorough, fun, and "open and go" for...
