I was there yesterday and got to meet and talk with Carrie and Julie. :D We also added several new HODies who saw what a wonderful product Carrie offers so we will be having lots of new "faces" to join us soon. We also discovered that there are several users...

Re: What do you do when...

Well, if you were using workboxes you could have the second child move on to another box to give you time to finish up with the first child. We just started using workboxes last week and they are already making things easier and more relaxed.

Re: Which program are you using this year and when do you start?

We are excited to begin our 2nd year of homeschooling and our 2nd level of HOD. We finally completed the last 2 units of Beyond last week and will do some bridge work for the next couple of weeks. We will head to the beach in FL for our 2nd Annual "Not Going to Public School Week" on Aug 10th when o...

Re: Health Education Curriculum idea anyone for 1st grade

We are starting 2nd grade. I have "Prudence and Your Health", one of the Prudence and The Millers books, as well as the 2nd grade Abeka Health book. There is probably an Abeka 1st grade book as well.

Re: Reading Made Easy Workbooks

Valerie Bendt will also be at the Atlanta Homeschool Expo this Friday and Saturday. I hope to get to meet her and ask a few questions. We finished Reading Made Easy A couple months ago and I wonder....what next? There is much more to be learned before my dd is considered a proficient reader. Though ...

Re: Atlanta Homeschool Expo

I can't wait to see all of the different levels at one time and look through the books. Also need to buy the remaining books necessary for Bigger. I hope we can set Atlanta on fire to HOD. :D I look forward to meeting both Carrie and Julie. Fellow HODies, let's plan to swing past the booth on the to...

Re: Anyone used a 10-drawer rolling cart to organize?

Yipee! I can now add photos to my posts. Here are pictures of our new workbox system, closeup of the stackable basket and dd's number board (minus the numbers). She removes the number from each basket as she begins and puts it on her board. It is another remineder of how much she has completed and h...

For those close to Atlanta: I am eagerly awaiting next Friday when I finally get to meet Carrie AND see all of the HOD offerings at the Southeast HS Expo. Plus, I will hopefully be able to purchase the remaining items needed for Bigger while I am there. Was anything decided about a meeting time for ...

Re: Anyone used a 10-drawer rolling cart to organize?

I looked at the cart at Joann's but was not happy with it. The drawers are rather small and there are only 10. I found some great stackable bins at Target that do not require a shelf or bin. They are the Circo Medium Stackable Baskets. They have a cool handle that folds in for stacking and folds bac...
