CHAP conference in Harrisburg, PA
Julie and Carrie, I can't wait to meet you in person at CHAP! I have never gone to a convention, but I am going this time because I really want to meet you in person, even if just for a few moments! Plus, I need to purchase a few things...do you have them there, or do you take pre-orders, or ship la...

Struggling with kids being in different guides--
Hello, I need some advice! My son did HOD CtoC this year and it went great. My daughter, well, we had planned to use another HOD guide but I never followed through. I was hoping to do Prep next year with her, but again I am thinking I don't want to do 2 programs. Even though CtoC was independent for...

Re: A discouraging post about feeling burnt out
Thank you to all who have responded...I only have a moment, but will write more later. I suspect she may have some learning disability. I am wondering about how to evaluate that. She has made progress this year, especially in spelling and english, and reading, but there have been red flags for some ...

Re: A discouraging post about feeling burnt out
Shannon, thank you so much for responding. I read your blog, and I appreciate reading how you have relied on the Lord to carry you through such a truly difficult time. I feel like your note made me realize how very much I have to be thankful for, and how very little I should be concerned with. Maybe...

A discouraging post about feeling burnt out
I have been a die-hard homeschool advocate for the past 11 years. I taught PS for a year (before having children) and quit, vowing I would never send my kids there. Since then, I had babies and homeschooled from the beginning. My eldest is 11, he is doing very well with school (CtoC), he has gotten ...

Re: We've decided to stay with HOD long-term!
It IS a big deal, and I can completely relate. How many YEARS did I spend searching for the next new and better thing? My son is completing CtoC this year, I think this is the first year we will have completed a curriculum! And I am not even considering anything else for him. RtoR is purchased, on t...

It's official! Moving to Philadelphia! Anyone from that area
My husband took a new position and we will be moving to the Philly area, between Wayne and Souderton. Do any of you happen to live in that area?
Please pray for us as we prepare to sell our home and look for another! Moving and homeschooling, should be interesting!

Re: Off topic---how does one decide about job offers?
They just accepted! WOOHOO! My husband has a new job! He is ecstatic, and I know it will be good for him. We both feel God's peace at this decision. We hope it enables more family time than his current position. WOW! So much changing so quickly! They are allowing us to decide if he wants to telecomm...

Re: I am free of curriculum hopping!!!
I can relate so much, and appreciate your post! I, too, am happily settled in with HOD and my life is running more smoothly. Your comment about needing a plan to work on ALL days, not just the best days, was especially appreciated. I agree!

Off topic---how does one decide about job offers?
We need help making a decision about a job opportunity. My husband works for a large nonprofit environmental org. He is very dedicated, works long hours, travels a lot. He was offered another job with a for-profit company. The new job is related to the environmental work. The new job pays about 30% ...

Re: Questions about the science in CTC
My son is in week 11 of CtoC. He just came up to me and said, "Mom, I really LOVE this curriculum!" This is heard in my house at least twice a week. He adores it, he is working so diligently. I don't prod him or cajole him, he is motivated to do it on his own, which is fabulous. I think the science ...
